WHAT IS CDS ABOUT

A wholistic approach to the Gospel.

On the Community Development School (CDS) you will be trained to view communities and nations from this perspective of ‘the gospel of the kingdom.’ On the school, you will learn a wholistic approach to the gospel that will contribute towards transforming communities and people’s lives physically, intellectually, socially, economically as well as spiritually.

You will learn how to encourage and empower communities rather than trying to be the heroes that rescue them from their situations. You will develop a biblical understanding of poverty, the forces that strengthen it, and how to partner with God and the community in developing solutions to these issues. And you will also learn foundational Biblical truths essential for the transformation of cultures.

HMT/DEV 365 & 366 – (formerly Foundations in Community Development – FCD) Prerequisite – Successful completion of DTS lecture & field assignment

WHERE I WILL GO

OBEYING JESUS BY GOING INTO THE NATIONS.

CDS outreaches will often go to different parts of Indonesia, with potential opportunities also going to other ASEAN nations (SE Asian nations). With such high levels of poverty and need in SE Asia, there are numerous opportunities for our teams to be involved with across the region. UofN Bali has also recently adopted a 777 vision, with a focus of serving into eastern Indonesia in the regions of NTB, NTT and Ambon.

The CDS gave me the right tools and
perspective to help the unreached.
